Non Traditional Employment for Women (NEW)

NEW plays a central role in diversifying the labor force through technical assistance, education, and advocacy services to employers, unions, and public agencies.  Opportunities are provided for women from all economic backgrounds in the skilled blue-collar trades as well as assistance to trade unions, construction companies, and other industries looking to increase employment opportunities for women in NYC.  The pre-apprenticeship training program prepares women with the information and skills necessary to succeed in many occupations that were, until very recently, held exclusively by men.
