25th Anniversary Gala Celebration A Success!

Port Washington, New York – December 6, 2006 –Congratulations to Women on the Job for a very successful 25th Anniversary Gala Celebration. This special evening, which was held on December 6th at Carlyle on the Green, Bethpage State Park, NY, marked WOJ and a quarter of a century of advocacy and education work for women’s workplace equality.

Women on the Job Board President, Dana Friedman, Executive Director, Lillian McCormick, Gala Chair, Judie Chessin, Honorary Chair, Katherine Heaviside of Epoch 5 Public Relations, along with over 300 Gala guests joined together to celebrate theaccomplishments of Honorees Diane Cohen, Executive Director of LI Fund forWomen & Girls, Judith Eisen, Esq., Managing Partner, Garfunkel, Wild & Travis, P.C., Ana-Maria Hurtado, 1st Deputy Commissioner, Town of Hempstead, Marci Skeahan, Chief Operating Officer, T. Weiss Realty Corp., and Suzy Sonenberg, Executive Director of LI Community Foundation. These outstanding women were honored for the positive example they set through their work, actions and commitment. They are an inspiration and WOJ is proud to have had their support and the support of other women like them at this celebration. “Our success not only remembers the struggles of our grandmothers. The highlight of the Gala was a special presentation and tribute to Co-Founders Lillian McCormick and Charlotte Shapiro, the WOJ Task Force and Women on the Job’s 25 years of Former Honorees by Dana Friedman.
